NASU, NAAT, SSANU suspend 3month nationwide strike
Samson Ugwoke, National Chairman of NASU Committee announced the suspension of its three-month industrial action on Wednesday at a press briefing.
The Joint Action Committee comprising the Non-Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities (NASU), Senior Staff Academic of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), National Association of Academic Technologists, (NAAT) embarked on strike over alleged failure of government to keep its own part of the agreement with the unions.
The Chairman of NASU Committee directed members to resume on March 15, 2018.
Ugwoke said “We shall not hesitate to resume the strike if government reneges on the agreements reached or delays in any aspects.”
Chris Ngige, Minister of Labour and Employment had on Tuesday pleaded with the Non-Teaching Staff of the Nigerian Universities to suspend the strike embarked upon since Dec.10 2017.
