Ekiti State Governor Fayemi Sworn In For Second Term
Kayode John Fayemi the immediate past minister of Solid mineral resources, , has been sworn in today to be the governor of Ekiti state for the second term in office.The oath of office and oath of allegiance were administered on Fayemi and his deputy, Bisi Egbeyemi by the chief Judge of Ekiti state, Justice Simeon Ayodeji Daramola.
Kayode Fayemi, was once the governor of the state between year 2010 and 2014, He lost his re-election bid in 2014 to another former governor, Ayodele Fayose, in a controversial election that saw the incumbent losing in the entire 16 local governments areas.
He was however re-elected as governor of the state in July 22, overthrowing his closest opponent and the immediate past deputy governor of Ekiti state, Professor Kolapo Olusola Eleka.
Attended guest for the inauguration ceremony include The President Muhammadu Buhari, who was represented by the Secretary to the government of the federation, Boss Mustapha. Also, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Chief Bisi Akande, Chief John Oyegun, and other top chieftains of the party.
Still in attendance were the governors of jigawa state, Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos state, Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo state, Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state, , Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna, and more others
