Akwa Ibom Gov, grant Corp Members and Camp Officials N48m.

The governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel has donated the sum of N48 million as transport allowance to 2128 Corps members of Batch C Stream 1 from camp to their areas of primary assignment.

The governor made the donation during the passing out ceremony of the corps members in Ikot Itie Udung in Nsit Atai Local Government Area on Monday.

The governor, who commended the corps members for their commitment to the development of the state, added that the state government has the security and welfare of corps members as its priority.

He also extended the magnanimity to the camp officials, who facilitated the corps members training at the orientation camp.

The governor admonished the corps members to be aware of their security, imploring them to put into use all the security tips they have been taught in camp.

He said that the camp needed a face lift to enhance the welfare of corps members and camp officials, adding that the state government had directed NYSC Governing Board to sustain the initiative of the scheme.

The governor said that he had directed all ministries and agencies of government not to turn down any corps members posted to it.

The state coordinator specially applauded the goodwill and commitment of the governor of the state to the scheme, especially with regards to his promise to give the NYSC camp a face lift.
